Our Litigation Department is well known for providing swift sound advice and active case management.
Our team has substantial experience and expertise in a wide variety of commercial disputes. Where possible we seek to resolve disputes without resorting to litigation but where this proves necessary we will pursue or defend in Court, Arbitration, Adjudication or other forum. Everything we do is informed by a commercial approach which is geared to achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients. Our expertise covers commercial disputes, property litigation, asset finance, debt recovery, Corporate and Personal Insolvency and Licensing. We offer particular expertise in the following areas:-
Debt Recovery
Allied to our litigation and dispute resolution service is our debt recovery department. The department is partner lead with highly experienced paralegal and support staff. Based on our experience we feel comfortable in offering our clients these guarantees:-
1. Instructions received from our clients to issue court proceedings or issue letters before action will be acted upon the day that they are received, irrespective of the value of the debt.
2. Our clients are kept fully advised of the progress of their case at each stage of the debt recovery process.
3. We endeavour to ensure that upon making recovery of a debt due our client does not require to pay anything other than the VAT incurred on our fees. VAT, of course, is ultimately recoverable by the client in any event. We are able to give such assurance because, where in an undefended action, we make recovery of the principal debt we invariably also recover judicial costs from the Debtor. Our fees are structured in such a way that they do not exceed the costs recovered. The end result in the vast majority of cases is that the client only requires to pay the VAT element on our bill.
